Odyssey of the Mind Competition

On Saturday, March 4, 2017, two teams from Forest Oak competed at the regional Odyssey of the Mind tournament at Dickinson High School. These 14 students have been working on a ‘Long Term Problem” since November that required them to give a performance with student-created sets, props, costumes, scripts, and much more! They relied on their problem-solving skills and teamwork in order to succeed.  Students also competed in a ‘Spontaneous Event’ in which they were given a problem to solve with only a few minutes to prepare unique, creative answers. Every team did an amazing job!! Forest Oak’s 3rd-5th grade team earned 5th place overall for our region for “Problem #5: Superhero Cliffhanger.” The K-2 team had an amazing time and got lots of awesome compliments from the judges! Congratulations to all of the teams and a HUGE thank you to the parent coaches (Erika Parisan, Jeremy Driscoll, Trish Jacobs, Ashley Goff, Kelly McCollum) and Ms. Martha Eldreth for representing our school as a regional judge!
